The 76ers, also referred to as the Sixers, are a professional basketball team based in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. The play in the Atlantic division of the NBA. they were founded in 1946 and were originally known as the Syracuse Nationals, and are one of the oldest franchises in the NBA. After they moved to Philly, there was a contest to decide their new name which ended up being the 76ers.They have won three NBA championships, with their first coming as the Syracuse Nationals in 1955.
